About the training

Who it is for

For anyone who works on the high-voltage system or its components after the vehicle has been de-energised and secured.

Prior knowledge
Electricity basics (electrical quantities, how they relate, AC vs DC)
Certificate
Sectoral HEV certificate Level 2, valid for six years after passing the test

What the participant can do after two days

  • Understand how an electric or hybrid vehicle is built and recognise every high-voltage component
  • Know and correctly assess the main risks of these drive systems
  • Choose and use the right protective equipment and measuring devices
  • De-energise a vehicle safely, following the correct procedure
  • Work safely on the high-voltage system and apply that working method
  • Start, drive and move an HEV safely
  • Assess the risks of a damaged vehicle

How the two days work

Theory and practice alternate. Participants practise every step themselves on the vehicle. They work in a classroom with a workshop, with training boards, components, vehicles and safety equipment. With a maximum of 9 participants, everyone gets their turn. Day 2 ends with the theory and practical test.
